Default Gary, I need help!

I got my Cruiser back from the body shop & it's got silver overspray all over it. It feels like sandpaper! It's also all over my headlights & when I turn the lights on they look really foggy. I need to get this off asap. Please help! Thanks

I would just take it back to the body shop. They would be able to get this off alot quicker then you would, besides, they put it there.

Mike, like bigdogdad says they should fix it unless you have issues with them and don't want to go back there. Soulds like overspray, clay will remove it, so don't panic. Let me know if you need help with claying if you decide to remove it your self. They were careless when they painted your car and didn't mask well enough. Gary

Hey Gary, thanks for the info. I went to Pep Boys this morning & spent the whole morning using the clay bar & did it just like the box said. It didn't help in the least. So I called my local detail shop & spoke to a very nice guy named Mark. He told me to bring it in so he can take a look at it. He was shocked! He could not believe the body shop would let a customer take delivery of a car in this condition. Anyway, he told me that there are different grades of clay bar, some more abrasive than others.

He pulled out a blue one (the one I got from the store was yellow) & started moving it back & forth on the paint. I could feel the difference, but still wasn't what I had hoped. Then he pulled out a red one, rubbed it on then wiped it off. It felt as smooth as a baby's butt! I was smiling from ear to ear.

He only charged me $100 to clay bar my whole PT & it included a super wash & interior detail & wheel & tire detail. I told him not to use protectant inside. I don't like how it looks or feels. He only charged me $50 for a complete polish & when I asked him about an engine clean & detail, he took 50% off, only $20. So all this for $170. Even if it's too much money for what I got (I'm not sure what you would have charged for this work) I was so happy I didn't care.

So, bottom line. My baby's paint now looks & feels like it should. Smooth & soft & clean. Thanks for all your help.

Glad it all worked out, yes their are 3 grades, but I have not found any overspray yet I could not remove with the one I sell (and use) mine is grey, or med grade. Gary
