Default Streaks on Vinyl Convertible top

Hi Gary,

I just bought my daughter an '06 Sebring convertible (7,000 miles - 30 months left on the warranty for $14,995 - Not exactly what I pictured as her first car, but I couldn't pass it up). It's a deep black with gold/green/purple metal flakes (black crystal pearlcoat)

I detailed the whole thing using perfect auto finish products and it looks great inside and out. However, I have a problem with the convertible top. It's black cloth-grained vinyl and it has a number of white/silver streaks that I can't get rid of. They appear to be on the surface, not embedded in the grain. I've used several non-abrasive cleaners and scrubbed gently with a soft brush, but I can't get them off. Do you have any idea what I can try that won't damage or discolor the top? Eventually, I'll treat the top with Raggtopp protectant, but not before I get it as clean as possible

Thanks very much.

John

Nova, It's possible you got over spray on it from when they were painting the roads. For situtations like that I have a host of products in my aersonal that I would try, but I'm not near you. Try a little wd40 on a toothbrush in a small area, see if that works, let us know. If it doesn't help, you better seek professional help, like a detailer near you, Gary

Thanks, Gary.

I'd like to go to a professional, but I've seen some jobs that left the car in worse shape than when it went in. I've got to be sure that the guy really knows what he's doing. I'd be over to your place in a hot minute if I were anywhere in the vicinity. I'll tru the wd40 this weekend.
