Default Major detail on a well used 2001 PT

Over Thanksgiving weekend I helped out a fellow PT owner by detailing her 2001 Patriot blue PT. She's owned it since new, and the car sits outside all the time. Needless to say, it was in dire need of TLC. Her boyfriend is just starting out with a DA polisher so he brought his machine over to learn a bit, and to help me out.

This is after we washed and clayed the car. The entire surface was covered in swirls and water spots.

Using Meguiar's M80 Speed Glaze I wasn't able to knock everything down, so I stepped up to M83 Dual Action Cleaner/Polish and that did the trick. Unfortunately, and I expected this, it left the paint looking a bit hazy. The owners boyfriend followed behind me with M80 and cleaned it all up.

Here's a half & half on the hood showing the dramatic difference:

This is how the entire car looked when we were done. Applied two coats of Meguiar's M21 Synthetic Sealant.

Thanks guys. I'm lucky in that I live very close to Meguiar's HQ in Irvine, CA and have been able to attend several of thier seminars and clinics. Amazing what you can do once you've been taught proper technique with stuff!!

Tons of information at the Meguiar's discussion forum - meguiarsonline.com and the best place to buy everything (best as in best prices, very fast shipping, great customer service) is autodetailingsolutions.com
