Default Graphics Removal

I just purchased a slightly used 04 dream cruiser. The previous owner applied stick on graphics to the doors. I was going to use a hair dryer and my fingernails to remove them. Is there a better way? Thanks for your input.

A hair dryer will do the trick, but take your time, you can blister the paint. Don't be surprised if the graphic outline can still be seen when you remove it because of paint fade where there was no graphic.

Hey Bob's Turbo GT - I think the detailing shop in my neighborhood is the same as yours. Oakwood/New Dorph area.

Buy a can of Wurth's Clean-Solve. It comes in a spray or liquid. Don't worry, it's safe for clear coat paint. Spray or pour some on a rag, then wipe it over the vinyl. Wait a minute, then start to peer off. If there's a residue left on the paint, just wipe it off with the same liquid.

The solvent sounds like a good idea and may be fairly safe but you will be there all day if the graphics are very big. I found a device that works like magic. It is called a pinstriping removal wheel. It is basically a 4" wheel about 3/4" wide that fits on your electric drill. It is like a big eraser on a drill. Start at the edge of the graphic and work into it. You have to have a variable speed drill and just barely have it going, preferably not over 1000 rpm. It won't hurt the paint as long as you don't leave it on one place very long and aren't running the drill wide open. Just don't do chrome or metal stickers with it. You will burn the paint, I did it. You can get a cheap one at most paint supply stores for about $10. I buy mine at Sherwin Williams automotive paint store. Orielly's has them but they are $40. They are 3m and do last longer. They also work really well for removing the double sided tape on emblems, moldings and body kits. Beats a razer blade and a days labor. You can do 2 rows of tape on a side molding in 15 minutes 3' long. They are amazing.

This liquid works extremely fast and without consequence. I've used it on my Corvette to remove tar.
