Default Cleaning Brushed Aluminum

I used the search engine for information on cleaning brushed aluminum and got no good results. I purchased a set of salt flats for my PT and they are a brushed aluminum, I just got them today and couldn't wait to see them, so I open the box pull one out and right away and I got finger prints on it. I used a dry micro fiber towel and tried to polish it using nothing but the towel, and that didn't seem to help. I know the others will get lots more placing them on the car. So what should I used to get rid of the finger prints once they are all in place?:

Gracefulspice,

Did that aluminum polish do the trick? I just put on the same disks and got them all smudged up. I should have put on gloves but didn't realize how touchy they are.

Thanks.

Hey Everyone,

You know when you see Tanker Tucks roll by with the trailer tanks all polished to a near chrome like finish? They use a metal polish called Jeweler's Rouge. It is a liquid / paste product that is white in color, can be used by both hand, or machine, and will bring even the very worst flat, dull, oxidized aluminum back from the dead with ease! If you live within the proximity of a Truck Stop, mos all of them have at least one, or more different types of Rouge, or Polish on hand.

Or if you do not live near a Truck Stop, here are two links to good products I have used, and recommend!

Here are a series of three different polishes that produce outstanding results on all metal surfaces! Please read the difference in the three in the description.

Liquid Rouge - IOWA80.COM

This next product is a little cheaper, and will not produce as good of a job as the previous product, but it can be found at most truck stops, and does a reasonably good job. Even though it says it can be used on paint, this is meant for industrial Poly Urathane Paint, and should not be used on regular Automotive Paint at any time!!

16oz MAGIC MIX POLISH - IOWA80.COM

Try it, and you will be amazed! Way better than Mother's, Meguiar's, or any metal polish on the consumer market for Billit Aluminum, and most other surfaces!

Take it easy!

Cool Re: Cleaning Brushed Aluminum

When you are done cleanin' those abrushed aluminum wheels.....don't forget a coat of liquid wax (easy to use), and makes them easier to clean the next time!
