Newbie Asks About Tape Marks On PT Cruiser Bumper

I took red rubbing compound and with a lot of elbow grease was able to rub the tape marks out. Then I polished the bumpers with a good silicon polish. So far the mark have not turned gray.

its the only way! they are nasty marks and bugged the crap out of me.

It worked, looks great!! How long ago did you paint them? Did you have to use a cover coat?

did it about a month ago. u dont need to do a cover coat, just make sure the bumpers are really clean and wipe them down with some rubbing alcohol before you spray. make sure u are doing EVEN, FAST strokes if anyone would llike to attempt this. if you dont move quick u will get drip marks. 3 coats should do it. i used about the whole can on the front and back. and dont forget to tape around the edges well, this bumper paint will ruin the clear coat

I had the same problem with my 02, had no problem with the dealer, there is a TSB out telling the dealers to paint the bumpers
