I just purchased a 2003 PT Cruiser and for whatever reason I did not notice the tape marks all over the bumpers until I got it home.
Since then I have noticed a number of other cruisers with the same problem... So my question is : does anyone know how to get rid of the tape marks or is a new paint job the only solution? |

I wouldn't hold my breath on Chrysler doing much about it. It's worth a try though.

Thanks for the replies and the welcome.
Since I am not the original owner I doubt that Chrysler will help me. The PT Cruiser I bought has 52,000 miles on it and is in relatively good condition, I really like the car and would like to keep it for a while... So, would it be a good idea to have it painted or would that be a waste of money? |

First, take it to the dealer, won't hurt to ask.
Second, If I were to have it painted, I would match the original car color. A good body shop won't have any problem painting it to match. Good Luck!!!

welcome aboard, i had the same problem...BUT im the stubborn type and said to myself that i had to find a way to fix it, and fix it for cheap.
head over to your local car part store (if you live in canada, canadian tire has it) ,,, what it is, is "bumper paint". tape up the front and back end then spray away. make sure your strokes are even and quick. takes about 3 coats for the front and back (the whole can) and your bumpers are painted!..cost me about 10$ and it looks amazing. i did mine black and it gives such a sharper look. if you want a picture of them pm me. |
