Default Removing Emblems

Good day.

I was wondering about removing badges on the exterior of the car. Someone stuck a chrome emblem similar to these PTWarehouse.com - Accessories > Exterior > Emblems on the tailgate, and I want to remove it with no paint damage.

I was also wondering about removal of the factory "PT Cruiser" emblems to give the car very uncluttered look. I imagine that would be next to impossible without damaging the finish, and would be difficult to finish to look like they were never there.

Anyone have any ideas, apart from getting the whole car done?

Actually, if you're careful, it's not really that bad. (Mine all were removed so my aftermarket woody panels could go on.) Just gently pry 'em up with something flat and plastic, like a plastic putty knife.

...or use a strong fishing line to use like a saw on the backing, then use a goo remover for the guck that remains.

I used a hair dryer to warm them up, they just peeled of. Caution: the adhesive can be hot enough to burn.

Goo Gone, and a piece of dental floss also works great.

This is the easiest way to do it. Hair dryer, dental floss, Goo Begone or bug and tar remover. Really simple.

Make sure you wash the area after and re-apply your wax. The Goo-Gone has been know to take off wax and on some cars damages the paint is used heavily.
