Thanks for the advise on getting Langka. Chip Repair Kit. It did just as advertised on my used 2002 Cranberry color car. The big scratches that were covered with very big blobs that must have been there for years did come right off and it looked much better even without any color in the scratch. Whoever had the car before I got it for my wife, must have tried to use fingernail color on some of the chips as the product will not even touch them. I am afraid to use something like acetone or fingernail color remover for fear of doing more damage to the paint.
But here is my evaluation of the results using the product. My particular vehicle as I said is a 2002 touring edition. It must have spent a lot of time outside in the sun as the touch up paint I got from the dealer looked like it was a good match, but after I applied the blob remover there was no blab and the surface was smooth but the scratch was filled by the touch up paint but much darker than the rest of the car. This may be because of fading on the car or the problem that another guy reported in the metal flakes going away and making the paint look darker in the scratch than the rest of the car. Has anyone found a fix for this? As far as the finger nail paint, I am at a loss for a fix for that also but will let you all know if I find something.

Thanks everyone who responded so far. I went to the local Chrysler Dealer and told them I had a 2002 PT. They looked it up on the computer and gave the touch up paint which I used. When I just put it on the car, it matches exactly. But when I do the procedure, any method that is described on their web page; what is left in the scratch is very dark and to tell you the truth everything looks better if I just use the product to remove the touch up paint and leave the scratch.
![]() After working on the scratches for 3 days, I am sure what is happening is what the other guy reported and that is that the metallic chips are floating to the top of the blob and are the first thing removed by the blob remover product. Unless someone has a better idea I would say the product does not work with metallic paints. It does a great job of removing blobs that is true, but it removes the metallic part of paint leaving it much to dark to be of much use. Maybe on a solid color vehicle but not one that has any metallic attributes. ![]() ![]()

If you think that the metallic chips are floatring to the top, and thus removed - why not try several thin coats. Maybe the metallic will be left behind on the lower layers. (Instead of one thick layer)
