Cool Re: First Cleaning

Hey Everyone,

Great job Cyclone! Looks great, and good looking Dream Cruiser too! I too am a Certified Detail Nut, and can never have too much shine, gloss, or depth!

Just for the heck of it, here is my baby! I still spend right around 40 hours a month on her to try to hold back the hands of time! Not too bad for 52,000 Miles of Smiles!

Anywayz, keep up the good work, and we will catch you a little farther down the road!

Lookin good man. Nice ride. What kind of suspension do you have ? I see its sittin a little low. What number is yours ?

After I get mine through inspection, I plan on trying something custom on the headlight assembly. What kinda products did you use ?

careyk, you prolly cant tell because of the lighting, but mine actually isnt red lol. The paint is so deep, in those photos, it looks red. But i like your painted rear splash shields. Prolly a lot easier to keep clean than if they were black. Nice ride.

Hey Cyclone,

Thank you fro the props on my ride! I sure do appreciate it! My Dream is Serial# 0377. I actually have been trying to put together a Dream Cruiser Registry to track as many of them I can just to see how many of us are out there! So far, I have a 243 accounted for, but I am always on the lookout for more! My earliest one was #0037, and the highest # is 2719, though I have found out through some research that Chrysler kept several of the first models as promotional vehicles, and that the Serial# Badges were put on in random order, and not by sequential numbering like one would think. This is why even though Chrysler did in fact cut production after only 1800 Dream Cruiser Series 2's, that you can still find Serial#2700+ still floating around out there somewhere! Oh well, it is still one of the coolest cars I have ever owned!

Now, on to my suspension, I started with Goldline Super Slammers which give a 2.75/3.25 drop, which was supposed to level it, but still left a slight rake, so I then hit up a good friend of mine that rolled a one off set of custom fabricated coils the put my PT at a full3/5 drop which gives me just the right stance! I did lose most of my ride quality due to prety much eliminating my spring travel, but I love the look in a big way! My body sits 4" from rail to ground, and 3 1/2" under the front, and back bumpers, which is about as low as I would recommend, and still be able to drive it!

And lastly on to Chemicals, I tend to use my own home mixed chemicals to do my stuff. Normally when big manufacturers design products, they wind up sacrificing ingredients, and altering the chemicals consistency by using some less expensive ingredients in order to keep the cost down. The end result is a less than perfect chemical, so in short, I know what chemicals are needed to tweak things in order to regain their full potential. It is more expensive in small quantities to produce, but having the right chemicals does make a big difference in the final outcome!

I do have to confess though, that my part of the reason my PT looks pretty good in the pic's above are due to some recent reconstruction work! Here was my ride six weeks ago:

We wound up re-shooting the Orange in House of Kolor Candy Tangello with a custom tint that is as close to original as we could get it over a white metallic base. Then we did the flames, which are streaked with gold, copper, silver, and gunmetal Grey ice pear microflake, and then finished by 14 coats of clear! I actually had it back for about 4 weeks, and now it is back under theknife all dis-assembled again getting more stuff done to it! We are hoping to get our extensive mod list wrapped up by mid September, and then I am done for a while....I hope! LOL

Anywayz, you guys go easy, and I will tak to you later!

Just to let you kno, my dream cruiser is number 1515. Im not sure what kind of care it was provided before, but now that I have it, it will be taken care of for sure.

I thought your paint looked a little different (the hue of the orange), but pretty close. Nice ride.

What other mods do you have planned.

careyk, im glad you can see the difference, cause mine in the shadows looks red, i swear lol.

Hey Cyclone,

Cool Deal! Thank you for your Serial #! If its cool with you, I would like to add it it to my list, and eventually add yours, along with all the rest of my listing project to my Club Website West Valley Cruisers

As for my ride, here is our list so far:

EXTERIOR:

1. New custom made reverse hood kit that will tilt forward, and down in front of the grille, and will work off actuators to open via remote! Custom Skid Plates under the front, sides, and rear of the PT to avoid any damage while trying to get into drive ways, or navigate over speed bumps, and a one off set of Custom Mirrors Plates that will use Flame Cut Billet Chopper style side mirrors!

INTERIOR:

1. Custom Built Beveled 1/8 Polished Aluminum Diamond Plate Door Sills, front seat backing plates, center console inserts, and sub box trim, 4 Orange LED Lights under the dash, under each seat, and six in the trunk around my Sub Box, and under my amp sub floor, and finally a one off Custom Chromed Piston Shifter Knob made from a Harley Piston which better matches the interior look, and dimensions!

ENGINE:

Polished Manifold to near chrome finish, K&N Cold Air Intake with custom powder coated pipe to allow access for a second red top Optima Battery, and Diamond Plate Vanity Cover under the hood.

AUDIO/VIDEO:

This is where the most time, and effort is going in to! I already have a custom sub box in the trunk with 1000 watt Performance Techniques amp running two Comp Series 12" Performance Techniques Subs mounted inverted, as well as two headrest monitors, and DVD. Now, we are putting in a top line Clarion Head Unit, Clarion digital EQ, Clarion Component Speakers with Crossovers, and tweeters up front, Clarion 3 ways in the rear Pillars, 4 1000 watt Rockford Fozgate 4 channel amps, one 800 watt Amp with a Gold plate Chrysler Logo that is going on a custom mount in between my subs, a new 13" monitor, and two 10 Farad Capacitor's hooked to a digital Volt Meter to monitor the power!

Some of the stuff including the reverse hood kit, Mirror kit, and new Custom Shifter Knobs, we are building as prototypes to sell to the general public in the near future, as well as a bunch of other stuff to follow soon after!

Anyways, thats whats in my play book for the time being! That is why it wont be done till early to mid September, just in time to unveil it at the big Lemoore PT Show we have out here on the West Coast! I can't wait!

Once I get all that done, I am finished for a while! Next year I am planning on hopefully finishing off my Flame Design, getting my mural on the tailgate, finally putting air ride to get it onto a trailer, and re-doing my wheels with 18" up front, and 20" in the rear, and then I am hoping to be happy with that for a while! At least a couple of months!

Take it easy, and I will catch ya later!

Smile Re: First Cleaning

Hey CareyK,

It was nothing big. Just a couple of imperfections I wanted to smooth out before we re-shot the everything! I really love paint, and body, and every time I get the chance to play around in the spray booth, I just can't help myself! I haven't messed around with paint in a while, but when I got the opportunity to work with a friend of mine on some graphics for my ride, I jumped at the chance! I did the layout for the Flames, and Roger did the inlayed pearl streaks, and all in all, it came out pretty cool! I still have a few more things I want to do to it, but I am pretty happy with it for now!

Anyways, thats about it! Take it easy, and I will catch ya later!
