Hey their demon666,

Sorry to hear about your paint. Can you please post a couple of pic's of your damage? If possible, try to get a couple up close, and one or two of the entire damaged area so I can see it, along with a little more description of how your front got hammered with rocks, and I should be able to hopefully give you some idea of why it chipped.

Thanks,

Candyman

I dont have a camara had it stolen my mexican cops a few months back while on vacation... any ways all i have is a 1mp cell phone camara ill try to take a picture but wont be that great .

Alaska rods are really bad and always Under Construction and you drive on gravel rds for miles at a time while worksers work on them plus the single lane roads dont help when trucks are driving 75 miles an hour windshilds dont last ether. ill post the pictures later on to day.

Man, that sucks. But I think it's probably due to the terrible road conditions you describe. I don't think there's much for paint out there that can stand up to stuff like that but I'm no expert so I could be wrong. I've got a couple chips in my car on a smaller scale similar to yours from everyday driving.

I know of no paint job that stands up to rocks.
The only thing I know of is a plastic covering:

You can get touch-up pens or touch-up brushes (looks like something your wife would have in with her nail polish). I'm not sure how well they would work on chips that large though. Candyman can probably comment on that. Otherwise, getting them touched up professionally is another option. QSD has a good link there. I've heard of people using those with good results but I imagine you would have to get those chips fixed first. The other option is moving to somewhere with better roads.

Yeah I've got a few on my front bumper as well.. can't avoid it. They are so small that you can't see them from more than 12 inches away so I don't worry about it.

I've got touch up paint from Chrysler and when it gets annoying enough I'll spend a day touching up and buffing... Until then, letting it ride.
