Default Anyone here made a cover for their dash?

In followup to my how do you remove the dash top panel thread...

.. has anyone else here made a custom dash cover?

I took my dash cover panel out to make it easier to cut for a lay-down cover, but then decided to just apply the vinyl directly to the dash. It looks OK, I will probably take it off and do it again indoors (less humidity, better stick) but wonder if anyone else has done it

Biggest concerns are how to deal with main vent for window demist, and speaker cutouts. Thinking of opening them up and using custom grills..

Pics to follow - I took many but haven't uploaded them. First, have to install a stereo this morning while it's cool out..

Cool Re: Anyone here made a cover for their dash?

Bought a standard Dash Mat, and customed it with graphics and color-matching trim. Done it twice!

With proper preparation, you could probably do something with a thin layer of fiberglass or body filler. Mine was so cracked up that I got a "new" one off of eBay just a couple days ago. If anybody wants the old one to go wild with, they can have it for the cost of shipping.

Thanks, both. I ended up covering it with the vinyl I had bought. Looks nice, but could look better. When I get the time, I'll pull it off again, patch the cracks with fiberglass applied with probond, and re-apply the vinyl. The only question is what to do with the edges around the window demist vent..

Thanks! I'm happy with the dash, but still need a coin holder!
