Default Proper Dusting Off Method

What is the best way to dust your car off after you freshly cleanedd it and took it for a ride and it gets a little dust on it, not alot but just enough to notice?

Well, you can drive VERY fast....
Get a Claifornia Duster - I think I even saw them in WalMart - or Google it - AutoAnything.Com, etc have them.

Hey Guys,

Actually the Duster is alright for light dusting work, though it should be very light dusting, and I would recommend only doing it over a good coat of wax. The reason is, even though the fibers are basically safe, dust as a whole is an abrasive, and you are essentially not going to pick up all of the dust onto the duster which means you are still dragging some of that abrasive across the cars finish thus causing some form of micro-scratching which is not so good on nicely buffed out paint!

A safer alternative is to take a clean Microfiber towel, and either a bottle of Quick Detailer, or a clean plastic spray bottle and a 50/50 mix of distilled Water and Isobutyl (rubbing alcohol). mist the surface to act as a lubricant to eliminate the possibility of causing any scratching, and then wipe her down with the microfiber.

In Young Cruisers case, as long as your using a decent Paste Wax over the 3M Glaze your using you should be good to go, but if your not using wax after the Glaze, you will scratch right into the surface which could very slightly reduce the gloss especially on black.

Anyways, Go easy, and Ill catch ya later.

I love my California Duster it works great...it was recommended by a neighbor...Target sells them for cheap. I always have alot of wax on board. I also love using Meguiars quick detaler spray with a terry towel.

Cool Re: Proper Dusting Off Method

Personally, I may be over-concerned about scratches.
So, I only use the CA Duster at shows. After a day or so of blowing Oklahoma dust, I just find it as easy to give soonercruiser a quick hose off with water, and dry with a microfibre towel.
