So i had my buddy tint my windows for free because he said he needs practice and wants to get into doing it for money. Theres no lines or bubbles anywhere but he didnt cut them long enough so the bottoms are all screwed up on every window. I was thinking of just cutting them straight accrost the bottom so its like an inch gap. Would it look terrible? Or should i just take them all off, im not getting new tints if i do.

Hey their yteka99,
TO me that kinda seems like a pretty good sized gap, and would really honestly kinda bug me. I do know that some Tint Shops will use a black Sharpie Pen, or some, or Black Nail Polish to clean up edges around hard to cut items whenever really needed to clean up any little gaps that may be visible, but on yours, that is gonna be a tough one. Best bet if you want to try it might be to straight edge the film you have on the window, and then try to cut a filler section to try to fix up the gap as best you can, and see what that looks like. If its nice and straight, you might get it to work. I would play around with a couple of the alternatives as outlined above first as you have nothing to lose, and if all else fails, you can always go ahead and remove it anyways. Good luck on it, Go easy, and I'll catch ya later. Candyman

Part of tiniting in a tint shop is removing the old tint if someone brings in a car that is already tinted. That needs practice too. I'd ask my friend to take them off and redo them correctly. He'll get to practice his removal and installation techniques.

Hey their yteka99,
Ya mean like this? ![]() I have all the back done in Limo Black over the Factory Smoked glass so they are almost impossible to see in at all from the outside. Then the windshield also has a Limo Black Sun strip, and lastly, the front door glass is at 20%, but due to my eyes having a very high sensitivity to light, I actually have a prescription authorizing me to have the front windows tinted so I am legally allowed to have them done. Technically I am also allowed yo have the windshield done as well to 5%, but never did it as the rest is pretty nice and dark as it is. On a side note, this was only my second time ever attempting to do the Tint myself, and was actually my very first mod I ever did to my baby! Man how time flies when your having fun! ![]() ![]() Anyways, that's what I did on mine. Glad to hear you got the rest of your Tinting dilemma figured out. I can most definitely vouch for the proven fact that Window Tinting is very one of those things that the more you do, the better you are big time! Now a days they even have laser cutters which are basically just like those machines that cut out Vinyl Lettering, but for Tint which can cut any design to an exact fit for any vehicle as well as custom stuff as well. Pretty cool stuff! So, go easy, and I will catch ya later. Candyman
