I have personally used Mother's Clay Bar and Cleaner Wax. The bar works very well, and the wax is fine too. But the wax, being a wax, wears down in about 4 weeks, so I opted to try Gary's Paint sealer. I was able to get one coat of sealant on right before the bad weather set in, but the car looks better with the sealant than the wax. I'm looking forward to a break in the weather so I can add another coat.

I've been using Meguiars products exclusively since I got my PT (about 14 months). I'm very happy with the results I get, both interior and exterior. I use their 3-step system with the final step being Classic Gold wax every six months. I wax the car about every two months. I used P21S once and was also very happy. I think the shine was better but it definitely doesn't last as long. I also noticed much smaller beading in the rain with the P21S. My car is in the elements 24/7 (no garage or carport at home, uncovered parking lot at work). Please note - I live in South Florida so I do not have snow and ice to contend with (and I can hand wash my car all year round).[8D]

i'm a mothers fan. i think i've used about everything they have atleast once, and i can't say i've ever thought the result was crap. my favorite is the interior vinyl spray because its smells so damn good.

i do use meguiars tire gel, ironically it smells like grape bubble gum.

i'm still looking for a good product to use on exterior vinyl. mothers makes a product that looks good, but like everyone elses it wears off quicly, usually in rain. i find that the side mirrors tend to get a white-ish buildup from the elements i'm assuming. nothing seems to have a more permanent solution...anyone have anything they use that does?

i still haven't tried garys products [:0] YET!!! i plan on placing an order in the new year.

Personally I love the S100 wax that I get from my local Harley Davidson dealer. It goes on easily and you remove it almost immediately so there's no drying time needed. I really think it has the best and deepest shine of any products I've tried (mothers. meguiars and Zaino). Also there is no white residue if you get it on any rubber gaskets, bumpers, etc.

I like to use Zaino quick shine or Gary's quick detail product for those quick touch up jobs, and the Zaino system can be used in full sunlight without any problem, so in my opinion each has it's advantages. I have used Gary's paint sealant and then put S100 over the top of it and the result was excellent. I need to restock on car care products for 2004 and I think that my money this year will be going to Gary instead of Zaino Brothers, but I will still be putting S100 wax on it at least once a month!

Gary,
Just wondering, what affect, in any, does applying wax over the sealant have on the sealant? Does it remove the sealant? How about the application of sealant every month or every other month? Does this cause a build-up? Does Dawn remove the sealant like it does wax? I don't think I can go six months without applying sealant or wax to my PT during the summer months.

IRPT, Is it ok to apply a wax over the sealant, if you are anal about keeping your car in tip top shape. another option is to apply another coat of sealant as well. you can re-apply my sealant every 30 days, itcan be layered as long as you wait a few weeks inbetween. Dawn is strong enough to remove/ wax AND sealant, it should only be used prior to a full detail. Hope that helps, Gary
