haha, I did not catch a typo I made giving computer advice. It would have gone unnoticed except the client asked, "What is NetBeeting?" LOL

Then you can use some of that "pain thinner".

How would you get renegade touch-up paint that has dried off of the textured turbo intake manifold? Sanding could mess up the finish by smoothing it; are there solvents that will take care of it?

hehe, I know someone with a horked "o".

Rolo, first make sure the engine is cool, using a short nylon detailing brush and some solvent cleaner, spray and brush, that should remove it. gary

Gary and grantwildbill, thanks for the tips. I'd never heard about OOPS but found some yesterday and gave it a try today. It works. Takes a lot of rubbing but it's getting rid of it. I'll finish it tomorrow, and use the clay on it during the last go-round. I've read your tips on using the clay Gary, I'd never heard of that before either. By the way, I can't access your site for some reason. I read PTRON's posts about not being able to get there either. Maybe he's found a way by now.

R.E. I don't know about computers, which is why I have a web master. From what he tells me, since my web site was donw in what they call "Flash" / in order to see the sites with all the bells and stuff (like the Ferrari moving across the home page. You have to have a flash hook up on YOUR computer. He tells me 95% of all computers have this. Now I also know that most if not all companies do not allow their employees to view flash type web site. So they install a wall, so it will block access. YOu should however still be able to see a non-flash site even on a work computer. Make sure you are typing in the correct font, letters. If you are still having trouble, it must be in your end. I have been getting orders and no complaints so far. Here is the link.
www.perfectautofinish.com Let me know if you get in. Gary

Still no luck Gary. It acts like it's going to open but it only goes so far then quits. Nothing comes up to tell me I need to do anything, just the gray screen. I'll see my son tomorrow, he has the same basic setup as me, so maybe he'll know something about the "flash" requirements.
Finished cleaning the latex specks off my old car (82 Diplomat) today. Also went over the whole thing with the Meguiars Step 1 Paint Cleaner. It's looking better than it has in many years. Won't have time tomorrow, but the next day if the weather holds, guess I'll do the Step 2 Polish. After that, is that when you put the sealant on, then the Wax? Quite a bit of work for an old car, but it's the original paint and I figured I've spent this much time cleaning it up, I'd like to go the whole route.

R.E, waxing over a sealant is optional. YOu can do it as along as you remember that once the wax is applied, you cannot re-apply the sealant unless you remove the wax. I find it is better to just leave the sealant on, and spray and shine inbetween washes. If you want an order form, since you can't load my web site, send me your address and I'll get one off to you. Gary/ Not sure why a few people can't load it, unless your computers are older, and don't have flash access. My web master told me this system would work with 98% of all computers. Even if you don't have flash, he did an add on that enables a "generic" version to pop up. so if you are not getting anything, it has to be on your end. I tested the non-flash version and it is working as well. Gary

IE may be set to disallow downloadable plug-in's. You can enable it or install the Macromedia Flash player manually (just download and install, they have a "test page" as well).

BTW, I loathe Flash; it is usually an impediment to information retreival (the main purpose of the Web) and serves no purpose other than useless eye-candy.

As a fellow business owner, you may be interested to know that the typical Web user will wait no longer than ten seconds for a page to load, then gives up and looks elsewhere. Don't forget to take dial-ups into account.

Your site looks nice, but personally, I do not have the desire to hit next, next, next, ad nauseum to find what I need. Just some insight, FWIW.

Gary, Rolo has a good point. An option would be to have your webmaster create a splash page which gives the user the option to enter the Flash site or the HTML site, you don't want to be losing customers because they can't get to your site!
