Since I'm always looking for news ways to improve quality in detailing, and windows are always a challenge, I wanted to share a new tip. Some of you may remember my homemade glass cleaner, (2-3 oz of Denatured Alcohol, mixed with disstilled water in a 32oz spray bottle.) Here is a new revision that found improves glass cleaning. First use my formula on the outside, using a terri towel (not micro fiber), WAIT, don't panic I'm not done. The first wipe will remove most of the dirt on the glass, but it will also get the rag dirty, (the key is to save your micro fiber for final wipe down) The product I use now for final stage of cleaning is called Stoners Invisible Glass, it comes in a aresol can, it is amazing stuff. Now use your micro fiber with the Stoners product and you will be amazed. For the inside, do the same thing, but get two fresh towels. I have the link at home on where to buy Invisible glass, I will post later unless someone else has it handy. Gary

Thanks for the tip Gary. Here's one place where you can get Stoners IG online:
http://www.rightlook.com/cgi-bin/che...ner%20Products I believe it is also available, at a lower price ($3.99), at PepBoys, Wal Mart & Advance Auto to name a few. Home page for IG: http://www.invisibleglass.com/

I 'discovered' Stoners Invisible Glass earlier this year when I got a can of it in my goodie bag at the Virginia State PT Cruiser Meet and agree it is an awesome product! I will now go out and try Gary's tip on the pre-clean with the alcohol/distilled water combo. One of my pet peeves is dirty glass (anywhere on the car) so I am always willing to try something else.
On the subject of glass, is there any way to remove the pitting on the glass (from stones, grit, general road gunk, etc. I guess)? (Other than buy a new windshield of course!) Also, I have seen Stoner products being sold in my local BJ's Warehouse as a case of 12 cans of the Invisible Glass. I don't remember the price, but you can bet it would be a good deal. [?]

Andy, purchase it buy the case is cheaper. go to the web site. The windsheild gets more abuse than anything else on your car, Think about it, when you are driving, what else is subjected to air-borne contaminants hitting the the car at high speeds? no wonder glass gets chips, and marks galore. You should protect the glass with something like RainX, / I use a professional product that I have sold to a few of the members here as well. Their are glass polishes on the market designed for glass, but I have found any auto polish with some abrasives in it works fine. then follow up with the sealer.
