[:I]to remove my "Limited Edition" badging on the rear hatch? My PT is about 15 months old, never been garaged, always in the Florida sun. I wax it about every 3 months. I know HOW to remove it (hairdryer and dental floss), my question is will there be a difference in the paint color under where the letters are and if so what, if anything, can I do about it?[:I]

PTRON, I removed mine, it had been on my PT for 18 to 20 months, and did find a difference! Hoping that with time it will match the rest of the rear hatch. Not sure what to do about it.

I would wager that you would notice, for two reasons: UV and heat tinting the exposed paint, and caked dirt around the letters shading the paint. The latter of the two will have to be clayed and polished and may remedy that problem, but the first is iffy. What colour is it? Silver would probably be the least noticable difference and any metallic would help.
Waxing every three months for an un-garaged car is not often enough: your wax is pretty much gone in 4-8 weeks. |
