Default Black PX8 color - how to keep it clean

I have a 2003 PT Black ( PX8 ) and it seems to take less than 10 minutes to turn a freshly washed and polished finish into a filthy dirty car. Also, what is the best way to remove swirl marks from my finish. They were there from the day I bought the car.

"less than 10 minutes to turn a freshly washed and polished"

IRPT, how do you find posts like that and save it, man you are good.
ok, snakepitt, if you are polishing you are not applying protection. unless you just threw that out there. Black is tough to keep nice, but it can be done with some effort. How did you get swirls in a 2003 car? Most swirls marks happen as a result of one or more of the following.
1. automatic car washes (the touch ones)
2. improper procedure when drying ( drying the car when it is not completely clean means you are grinding the dirt in the finish.)
same is true when washing, not pre soaking to loosen dirt first
3. using the wrong products or application techniques. (example, using dawn to wash and finsih up with a polish)
4. inexperienced person buffing out the finish
YOu need to follow the steps I posted that IRPT posted,if the swirls are heavy, it might take a pro to do it properly. any way you can post pics ? Gary
