Well, I did wash the wheels first with a brush and cloth but the MF towels picked up a lot of dirt and dust that was missed and really shinned them great! So after a year I have dingy looking white towels that I can only use for wheels now!!
I use a brush & a old rag,(t-shirt or towel) to wash my wheels, then I spray Gary's Ultimate Dressing on the tires, the overspray goes on the wheels. They SHINE after that. I detail my car about once a week, of course I live in Florida so I do not have to worry about SNOW, ICE etc. (Originally from Michigan, so I DO know about SNOW & ICE!!![xx(]

My towels come out perfectly clean when I wash them and put oxi-clean in with the wash and they come out just like new. I never let the wheels get really dirty. So a quick wipe with a microfiber towel and they are beautiful again. Living in the desert usually means just a little dust on them at most.

I keep a separate towel just for the wheels. Nt hard to distinguish between the "good" towels....it is the only one that is black. I just spray detailer on them and wipe clean after they cool down.
