Default Small scratch

Last night while changing my rear bulbs in my Altezza lights, to chromax bulbs because the white ones may be blinding the people behind me and cause me to get a ticket.

Anyways as I was putting the screw back in the driver slip and ran, lightly, up near the light in a very noticeable place. Its about 2-1/2" long and is a thin light scratch, but is a scratch and will not come off by rubbing.

What could I use beside touch up paint, like a blend or something of that nature. Show how cheap that area of paint was done. I could hardly fell the driver touch the area until I looked down and realized what happen.

King, use a light paint cleaner first, that may just smooth out the scratch where it is less noticeable. Gary

What type of cleaner do you recommend? How strong and what name.

What does the paint cleaner do.

Hi King, the paint cleaner I sell is a "mild abrasive"> what will it do? when you have a mare or minor surface scratch, many times a cleaner can effectively smooth out the paint so it is less noticeable. imagion the valley of the scratch. and the walls or sides are what is reflecting the light. (making it obvious to the eye.) When I use a high speed buffer for major defects, all I'm doing is "blending" or "leveling" the walls or sides of the valley (scratch) making it less noticeable. In the same theory, when you have a minor blemish, a gentle cleaner can sometimes do the same thing. However, since I can't see it, it is impossible to tell you what can or can't be done. remember my "less is best" remark? always start out with the less aggressive form first, like the paint cleaner, then kick it up if nesessary. p.s. Meguiars Paint cleaner is stronger then mine. That would be ther next step after a mild one. Cheers. Gary
