Default Removing Swirls

Swirl marks can be caused by many different factors. It happens most of the time during the wash and or drying stage. If you don’t clay your car, and leave contaminants on the finish, you will scratch and cause swirls in the finish when drying your car. If you don’t “pre-soak” during the wash, it can happen there as well. If someone buffs out a finish without using the proper technique (I see this most often) the machine will swirl the finish. So what do you do to remove them? It is difficult to do by hand, but if you are willing to work, you should be able to improve the finish. If you are going to attempt it by hand, first make sure car is clean and dry. Wash/rinse/clay/wash/rinse again. I would start out using paint cleaner; this will remove minor surface blemishes. Next, you will need a swirl remover polish. Use side to side motion; make sure you see how the results look in direct sunlight. Artificial light is deceiving. Some swirl removers have fillers in them, which means you are hiding the swirls not removing them. The method most professionals use for this correction is a high-speed rotary buffer or a dual head cyclo buffer. The friction and heat created between the pad and chemicals is what provides the cutting action to level out swirled paint. If you are not satisfied with what you have done by hand, it would be best to find a local professional detailer to do the job correctly.

Gary,
Why don't you sell a clay bar application? Unless I missed it.

King, I sell a ton of products not listed on my web site. Remember I never intended to get into this end of the business. I started doing it to offer better choices for people who attend my clinics, and now fellow Cruiser owners. All you have to do is e mail me with what product you want, I will get it for you. Clay is not cheap either, my cost is 20 bucks a brick, but a little goes a long way. Gary

How quickly you forget Gary, is that so many people come on here and talk about your products that makes others, like me, want to recieve the best as well too. This is why Im looking for what I had heard is the best, because I want the best to make the paint and finish last longer.
