![]() Looked like someone put a grinder to this finish. I took some nice pics of the before and after. As you can see from this, sometimes professional buffing is the only way to remove serious defects. This car took me 7 hours to correct. ![]() |

Looks like your pix are of different ends of the car, but I gotta tell ya, if the trunk looked half as bad as the hood then you, sir, are a miracle worker!
What kind of car is that? For some reason that sharp line on the hood makes me think Aston Martin Lagonda, but it doesn't look quite long enough. Just curious. |

Mike, it is a Mercedes 320 sedan, the whole car, sides/ doors roof , the works looked same as the hood, I never saw swirls as bad as that, for a 2 year old car. I didn't have time to shot more pics, spent way tooooooo much time on this car. someone must of used a chain saw on it. The owner thought it was a differant car when he picked it up. Thats way I love this stuff, great satisfaction for all the work. Gary

A two year old Mercedes??? Geez, what is it with people shelling out serious cash on a car but just can't see the sense in spending a few dollars more to keep it looking good. I don't get it. And hey, the pix make the angles of the car look really sharp and defined, that's why I thought it was a Lagonda - that and I know you handle some fairly exotic cars. Plus, don't you have to work at making a two year old car look that bad????

Looks like the owner used the gas station car wash, the ones with spinning brushes. Very easy to get those swirl marks in a short period of time. Infrequent washings can also cause the same condition. The build up of dirt and grime acts like a fine sandpaper.
Even if you take extra care for your paint, many detailing enthusiasts do a complete detail every year (or more often depending on the environmental conditions where you live)to remove any swirl marks, fix any defects, and/or maintain the best possible look. Let's face it, daily driving thru air full of dust and dirt may mar your paint no matter how well you care for your car.
