I have been having some problems with my winshield. I clean it after every wash, and the winshield retains a sort of streaking on it. I will wash it again, and it still stays there. It's almost as if the streaks are inside the winshield. I've used windex and armor-all window cleaner, and neither take away the streaking. What should I do?

Are you washing it full sun? Have hard water? Try the old ammonia and newspaper trick - it usually works. Another trick I've used is to put the same polish I use on the paint, let it dry, and wipe it off.

Chromed....what are you using to clean it with, cloth or paper? might want to try paper only. also try going up and down on the outside and across on the inside that way you can tell witch side the streaking is on.

On the outside, try mineral spirits to remove and oils, etc.
On the inside, Blade covered it Clean in a different direction using a good window cleaner. You will want to use a "MF" towel made specifically for glass to get the best results. Sprayway and Einszett make really good window cleaners that are safe for inside and out ![]() For a good glass cleaner and polish, Duragloss is available local.

Hi Guys,
I have a similar problem: water spots from hard water on the windshield, what is the best way to remove them? I tried all the popular glass cleaners, but nothing seems to work. thanks

Use a clay bar on your windows and a glass cleaner that contains NO ammonia. In place of a commercial glass cleaner, Vinegar and water mix works as well or better (can be 50/50 up to 100% vinegar. Also removes water spotting.). ½ cup of baking soda in a quart of warm water is also a popular solution.
