Turbomngt,
I finally got to use the clay bar treatment, to get rid of the rail rust. I noticed that I seemed to have a slight discoloration or light spot where I may have rubbed to hard. Is there a fix?

A quality clay should NEVER damage the finish...,

I would first try a good quality paint cleaner or very light polish on the "spot"
If the clay is very harsh and abrasive, you may have caused damage.
However, it is possible that the clay only left a residue that can be polished out.

It is ALWAYS best to start with the least aggressive "fix" first..., then go from there

Hi Gonzo, the three elements I teach in my detailing clinics which I cannot over emphasize are, LUBRICATION, LUBRICATION, AND LUBRICATION. If you don't keep the clay properly lubricated it may overwork that particular spot you are working. Always make sure the surface is as clean as possible, work in small sections and follow the above. If in fact you did slightly cause a blemish, the following steps that you will be going through in a complete detail will take care of it. If you have more questions, go to my web site. Gary
