Default Removing Wax From Bumpers

I need advice on how to remedy a typical newbie mistake. The first time I waxed my Cruiser some of it got onto the bumpers (carnuba wax onto the stock gray vinyl ones). It has left a discoloration that I can't get out through repeated washings. Someone suggested putting polish on the spots, but once the polish dries the discoloration is back. Is there anything to put on them to fix this? TIA.

First..., I would recommend a quality polish, wax, sealant that does not leave behind nasty looking stains and gunk up in moldings, trim, door jambs, etc
(you can email me for more info if you would like)

To address the present problem-
To completely remove the wax from the trim, I recommend Prep-sol, available at your local auto parts store or body shop supplier.

After removing, use a good trim dressing to give it that new look again..., and please, use a non-staining wax, it will make detailing easier, faster and more effecient.
Just think, wipe on, wipe off, no stains, no after detailing "detailing" and 15 minutes later, you are REALLY through with your detail

I would use a vinyl/rubber protectant. Mothers makes a product called "back to black", and Meguiar's makes an actual "vinyl/rubber protectant." Both of these products make the stain disappear.

Add Finish 2000 (or is it 2001?) to the list. All way better than Armor All.

Ben, Remember this simple method. first of all DON"T use a polish like someone suggested. The black bumper will act like a sponge and absorb the material and it will look worse. The plastic is pourous, and what happened was the wax got inside the pours. To remove, get yourself a simple small detail brush (toothbrush also works) spray some all purpose cleaner on the area and scrub lightly with the brush. The brittles will get inside the recessed area that has the wax, (which is another reason why rubbing it with a rag will do nothing.) Once you remove the wax, apply a water based dressing and it will look like new. Gary p.s. You should use a non-staining synthetic next time.
