Default White car with rail dust

Just finished a white Nissan Maxima today, it was so dirty I didn't realize what I was in for untill I got it washed. My worse nigthmare, rail dust. Tiny little orange dots that look like rust, took me over an hour just to clay the car. I did my baggie test before and after, WHAT A DIFFERENCE! White shows rail dust better than any other color. If you have a white of light colored Cruiser, next time you wash it, inspect for rail dust up close. It only gets harder to remove the longer you wait. Gary

Gary, what is "rail dust" . I have a ford P/U and it has the small rust like spots you mention, but I just thought the paint was bad or it had been damaged like some sort of scattered sand blasting.

Sounds like I can fix it, please reply. Also, I sent you a separate email, hope you can set me up with a starter kit. New PT owner and after reading all these posts I am sold on your products,

Mike

Just go to your local wal-mart and look for the clay magic kit. It has the clay and the detailer spray. If your does not have it go to your local autozone...pep boys...advance auto to name a few...Just ask for the clay cleaning kit. I am sure they will have it either by clay magic ot others. It really works great. Kit is about 10 bucks at wal-mart.

MIke, I responed to you P e mail. Rail dust is the result of the friction from the steel wheel and the steel train tracks that most domestic cars are shipped. These hot metal fibers float in the air and land on the vehicles. When they land they are red hot, and become imbedded in the finish looking like rust spots. Clay bar and some chemicals will remove it. I have the clay bar on my web site and order form. Gary
