Default Leather Cracking

This is what you leather will look like if you don't condition it often enough. First you will see the lines, eventually it will split like these seats are doing. This is from 6 year old car.

How often do you advise conditioning the leather? What condsiderations do you take into account? Can you over do it?
I tend to condition the driver's seat more often then the rest since it gets the most use. I've been surprised, and a little concered, that the creases are really setting in on the driver's seat and the care is only a year old. Teach me master, you are my Yoda!

Considering where the Cruiser's are made, then all of the leather seats would be cracking![]

My steering wheel does this now, and started at 15000.

Small amount at top were most sun hits. I do condition with armorall but I guess its not enough. You would not believe the amount of dirt that comes off after Im done, the pad is black.

Mexican Food! I like that one. If you live in a climate that has seasonal change I say 4 times a year. You cannot over do it. Leather as you can see from the pic will dry out. When it does, trouble starts. Condition with a lanilon base product (Like mine) or another quality product like Lexol. Use a foam pad place it in a baggie when you are done, and mark it "leather treatment". after you treat the leather, let it soak in for a few minutes and remove with a flannel towel. p.s. You should clean it first with a leather cleaner before conditioning. DON'T USE ALL PURPOSE CLEANER, TOO HIGH IN ALKYLINE. GARY

[8D]That's some good stuff, I've been wonderning about the leather also. What is harder on leather, cold or hot climate? Puting a towel on the seat when your not driving, along with conditioning, would that help protection from sun drying an cracking? Or is it just the car gets hot in their an drys and crack leather.[:I]
