Default Water Spots

I washed/polished/waxed my PT today. I noticed that there are still a good bit of tiny swirls and a lot of water spots. I used Meguiar's cleaner wax and gold class wax. I just clayed the car a few weeks ago, and there were still a few water spots on it then. Any suggestions?

[:I]You lost me QSD. I looked at the link. Do you think a clay bar works. If so where do you get one I've never seen one before. After using it then I get to use a real good wax.

Stirfry, let me try to clarify. Your clearcoat is about 2 mils thick, (take a piece of notebook paper, that's about 2 mils) Whenever a contaminant hits your finish (water spot, bugs, bird bomb, overspray and on and on) if it is not removed right away, the process of "etching" has started. If the contaminant has only been on the surface a short time, chances are if can re moved during the wash cycle, or "deep cleaning" cycle. The problem with water spots and bird bombs is that it doesn't take long at all before the etching goes through the clear coat and into the base coat or color coat. Clay bar, paint cleaners will only work if the etching has not started. Gary

Thanks Guys; leaves me with just one question. Where do I get a clay bar. Gary, I looked at you sight, and with all your help I really feel I have a much better understanding on the subject. Do you sell the clay bar, if not where might I get it. Mahalo,[8D]

Stirfry, for those that have trouble finding clay, I will sell you at my cost if that helps you out. Just write in and add $10 to the order form and I will get you a piece of clay enough to do 5 cars. My spray and shine is the lubricant to use with the clay. Order form can be downloaded from my web site. Gary

Thanks Gary; I'll do that, I tried the Meguiar's NXT it works good on most of car. But doesn't get some water spots that were gotten from a sprinkler. Also when I got the car the shipper accured some contaniment specks. Really showed up on a white car, could never figure out what it was, mostly all gone but some specks remain. Hopeing the clay bar does it. Thanks again for the help.
