You can do a dawn wash first and inspect your paint. Correct any defects (swirl marks, etc. if any). Some have used NXT over their current waxes without a problem. Shake the NXT bottle well and then apply a thin coat of NXT over your entire car. It takes about 15-20 minutes (or longer) before you can buff it off. So by the time you finish applying NXT over your entire car, you should be able to start buffing the NXT off where you 1st started. Just swip your finger over the NXT and if it smears it is not ready to be buffed off. Some have left it on overnite and noted NO increase in buffing effort to remove. If you want to add another layer of NXT, wait 24 hours before applying another coat of NXT.

Some people have experienced some hazing from using NXT. That was attributed to using too much of the product during the application process. Can use distilled water or a Quick Detailer to remove any hazing.

I have just tried the NXT and so far I like it. I haven't noticed hazing but I always use a quick detailer after I am finished anyway.

Jimbo, have been away since Thursday, I quick detail after waxing just to make sure I have not missed anything, it doesn't take much time.

The terms are being mixed up here. They are talking about using a "Quick Detailer" spray product after waxing. Meguiar's, Mother's, Eagle One, etc etc all make one and are available either at your local auto/discount store or online. Many synthetic/sealants recommend using a quick detailer (and usually their brand...lol) after buffing, but you can do the same with carnauba waxes. Can use a quick detailing spray for daily use or after washing or inbetween waxings, remove fingerprints, and for removing bird and insect mess from your paint. Provides extra pop and some protection for your paint plus reduces static electricity and removes any hazing.

Some quick detailing products contain carnauba, so be careful if you are using a synthetic/sealant polish/wax. And some contain "harmful or bad silicones", which are not body shop safe (if you have an accident and they repaint a section, you may get "fisheyes"). Read the label, it is usually stated if the product contains carnauba wax and/or states if it is body shop safe. Then its just a matter of finding one you like, and there are many good ones out there to consider.

I thought Meguilar's High Tech Wax (which was Mike's original subject) inlcludes carnauba: http://store.auto-geek.net/meg26hitpasw.html

I think NXT is the synthetic one right?
If I use a synthetic wax, does that mean I can't use a carnauba quick detailer?
I'm just starting out, and recently used Turtlewax.
Should I just jump in with the NXT?
Should I "Dawn wash" the Turtlewax off first?
Should I still use a sealer before the NXT?

Thanks for everyone's help and patience.
