Whenever I detail a car, every owner gets a complete evaluation on every flaw I see in the car, along with a certification of completion on what was done. ( I believe in keeping detailing records just as you do engine records) Recently I did a 2002 Mercedes S500. When I was on my back doing the underside panels of the doors and saw some rust in both corners of the front doors. This shocked the hell out of me. I came to the conclusion that the drain holes were not properly set, and water just sat there. When I told the owner about it his first reaction was the same as mine, how could this happen on an $85,000 car, only 2 years old. He just called me today and thanked me for it pointing out because he has 2 months left on his warrenty. The dealer is taking care of it no charge. I have learned that even though it may hurt to tell owners about defects, in the long run, its better they know. Gary

Thought Mercedes has a 4 years/50,000 miles for Basic, Powertrain, and Rust or in other words:
Basic: 4 years/50,000 miles Powertrain: 4 years/50,000 miles Rust: 4 years/50,000 miles Standard roadside assistance. Just FYI: Chrysler's Corrosion or Rust warranty is 5 years/100,000 miles.

Sci Fi, I think your numbers are correct, the owner was fast approaching the 50,000 mark, and based on his milage he calculated being there in less than 2 months. In any event, I think they are overpriced for what you get.
