I thought I would post this as information, and hopefully to find a cure.
I believe this problem will be unique to Dream Cruiser Series 1 and 2 as the rest of the leather seat cars have dark leather. The DCS1 and DCS2 both have either a gold or tangerine insert. I was cleaning the car yesterday and noticed that on the driver's side seat beack, right where the lumbar support pushes the back out, that I have some black stains. They resemble how overspray looks on paint, and was also prevelant on the seam between the two halves. I tried the Lexol cleaner and then the conditioner, as per the directions, but the stains didn't budge. First off, I have no idea what it is, and scondly, how the hell do I get it off?!?! It almost looks like the dye from a black shirt came off on the seat in that spot, perhaps during the winter when I had the seat heater on ? Will I have to re-dye this seat, and can you re-dye just a portion of a seat like that ? Any ideas would be cool. |

Jack, this is a true story. My wife insists on putting her purse on the console between the driver and passenger seat whenever she drives her car. I always tell her that she should NOT do this, and like most wives, they don't listen. The dye in the black purse transfered into the leather console. I tried every product I have plus I went to an interior shop. Nothing can get it out. Since I can't see you leather, I can't tell you what it is. If it just showed up, (unlike my wife's case which took some time to occur) I think it can be removed.
Using the less is best mentality, and you used Lexol, go with an all purpose cleaner and a NEW toothbrush. If that doesn't work, try a solvent based cleaner, use a small amount and don't run too hard. Too much solvent can bleed the color dye out of the leather. I can get you some solvent cleaner if you want some, let me know via private message on my web site. Gary

From what I have read it appears other people with the Dream Crusier 2 are experiencing this same problem. It could be that the seats are all black leather and the orange part is dyed orange--not sure. [:I] Anyway, you may find this thread on the subject interesting: http://www.ptcruiserclub.org/cgi-loc...nread#unre ad
I would think DC should take care of this matter under warranty. Good luck in solving the problem. ![]() |

Well I figured out what the source of this is.
About two months ago, I purchased some new clothes for work, and among them was a nice thick DARK BLACK SHINY LEATHER BELT, sold under the Levi's name (their tag and their logo stamped into it). Where my belt is worn, it lines up perfectly with where this is on the seat, and I can only surmise that this is the dye and oil from the new belt rubbing into the orange leather. I'm going to try and contact Levi's in what may be a futile attempt to find out what the hell to use ot get this crap out of my car. Anywho, just a word of caution on stuff like this. You fellow Dreamers may want to watch out.

Well, I just called Levis, and strangely enough a real live person was talking with me in less than a minute, which shows good Customer Service to me.
I explained the problem, and the nice woman said she would have some big regional guy or something call me no later than Thursday to try and tell me what I should do. We'll see if they can help me out on this, and I'll let you know what they say.
