Default Painting Question BC/CC

I bought some mirrors at the junk yard and wanted to paint them to a smooth finish using base coat/clear coat. I had the auto supply shop match the paint color (PX8) and put it in spray cans for me.

I have done everything right (prep ect...) up to now.
The only problem is I ran out of base coat when I was almost done.
They needed one or two more wet coats of base before the clear. The paint store is closed until Monday now.

Anyone know if it would be ok to leave them and just sand the base and shoot it again on Monday afternoon?

Should be OK, in fact your should wait sometime between any of the coats (base or clear) before putting on the next coat.

I find it ironic that the colors red, white, and blue stand for freedom until they are flashing behind you.

I just left it for now, I guess I'll find out Monday
Did a google search but wasn't very lucky....
I'm just going to give them a quick sand on Monday and go from there.
I seen a few little fuzzes got stuck to them so maybe this is a good thing lol

Follow the flash between coats. About 10 15 minutes. You said you ran out of base. You only need enough to cover evenly. Less is better. So once you've achieved color coverage your ready for clear. Follow the instruction and you will be fine. You can scuff and shoot a coat of base next week and then proceed to clear. Remember you can scuff and buff if you don't get the look when you spray. Wait a day then buff to your desired look. Be careful of the edges.
rockandroller and chuzz like this.
