Default A question for the Yoda...

Hello Gary, I've been reading and trying out your suggestions for a while now but I'm puzzeled about something. My PT is a daily driver and we don't have a garage to park in, so even after just detailing by the next morning she's dusty. What can or should I do in between washing/waxing every weekend[:I] Thanks for all your hard work and the info[?]

Hi smfry> I could invest in a car cover for one idea. The only other option you have is regular maintenence. Which would include putting on a paint sealant for better protection, and use either a quick detail, or my poly seal inbetween washes. Hope that helps. Thanks for your compliment, Gary

Thanks Gary for the info, what is "quick detail and/or poly seal"[:I] and do you use them dry or do you rinse first then use? Thanks [?]

i use a car duster each day when my car has a light dust coat. never had a problem. of course i wax regularly and use a detail spray after each wash (i'm trying to use up my meguirs as quick as possible so i can get gary's stuff!). would be curious to know what you think about the dusters gary?!?! also gary (ar all you other people that are so good about this stuff), i got a freebie gift of armor all car wash wipes. they are a large, wet towel that it says you can use between regular washing on lightly soiled cars. i tired one on the wife's neon and it worked surprisingly well, but am not sure about using it on the cruiser. any advice or comments on this product?

Not sure what Gary will say about this product but I wouldn't use it on my car. I use a California Duster because it will acutally pick the dust up off of the paint with a very light touch and you are not scraping around on the paint. Some years ago a "friend" of my wife's went to her office and offered to "clean" her Trooper with something like that that he swore needed no water to wash it off. When she told me about it that night my heart sunk. I went down to the garage to look at the car and is had the spiderweb scratches all over it. Had to have it all buffed out. Just my $0.02.

Cal is right, you don't know what combination of chemicals are in those wipes. They may do more damage, stay with product you have confidence with. The duster is fine as long as you dust NOT clean with it. detail spray has no protective properties. It will remove smudge makrs, finger prints, wax residue and the like. ( also is a clay lubricant) My poly seal DOES have protective properties in it. YOU can use it on top of wax, or sealed finishes. It has the best of both worlds. actually 3. mild cleaners, polymers, and some wax. It shines like no tomorrow while leaving the finish with additional protection. I use it to freshen up recently detailed cars to add depth and keep the brillance of the finish. hope that helps, Gary
