I have had a billet polished grille on for a couple of months now. I've waxed it a couple of times, and I am getting residue on the "powdercoat" that is on the vertical bars, and on the horizontal bars, excluding the polished areas on the front of the grille. I've tried rewaxing, I've tried 409, and I've tried a lot of handbuffing with a towel, and nothing is working. I also have a couple of very large chips in the "powdercoat". What should I do? Any sort of cleaning recommendations? Or should I just go out and buy a can of rustoleum and get to painting? It's not very noticeable from afar, but when you're right next to the front end it is very noticeable. Should I consider just stripping the entire grille?

The pics did not post on my computer, can you try again? I would like to see it before commenting.

I've had mine nearly 3 years and have never polished it - just scrub it clean and wipe dry. If you're gonna try painting, you have to get the wax off anyway. Maybe take grill off, sand horizontals, paint, then sand vertical faces of horizontals to get paint off.

Here are some close ups of the grill. Note the wax hazing on the first, and the very large and unattractive chipping/peeling in the second. What do you recommend for both?
