My wife's 02 has those plasted water spots on the exterior door pillars. I've tried all kinds of stuff - the stuff I use to try to crover the tape marks on my 01 bumpers - but to no avail. There was a tread sometime ago regarding these spots. Can anyone head me in the right direction in dealing with this problem? Thanks

Our pillars are clear coated similar to your finish. For some reason or many reasons, I have seen this occur often. First thing to try is to bring it back to the dealer, I heard some pillars come with a defect prone to this problem. IT IS ESSENTIAL to wax/ or seal the pillars regularly. The car wash you frequent may have the chemicals set improperly (acid vs alcoline) which may cause problems. Clean them with a mild cleaner and see if that improves them before wax. Look on my web site for info on paint cleaners. Gary
