Well, I am 15 and soon to inherit a patroit blue pearl 02 PT Cruiser. Until it is fully paid off I will be sharing it with my mother, who is the current owner. I have loved the Cruiser since I saw one on a commercial, and I was estatic when we got one. I want to make the PT we have now and slowly turn it into a PT that I can ride out on the street and people will be as estatic about it as I am. When I turn 16 I will just have a minimum wage job, so some things that I would like are a little out of my range. I thought that getting some nice decals would help give the PT a better than stock look without spending the 1000+ dollars I want on a body kit. I know little to nothing about cars, I know how to keep her running right, and how to drive her, but outside of that I know little. I'm looking for a site that has some nice PT decals, and hopefully some feedback on decals that yall have on your cruisers. Will there be any problems in the winter with the salt gettin on the decals, or pressure washing them? Thanks for anyhelp you can provide me.

Well, you'll certainly want to visit StreamlineDesign. Rich is a great guy and he has a lot of flames and specialty decals.
http://www.streamlinedesign.com/ptcr...ptcruiser.html Speed Graphics has some really cool slam wraps that might interest you, too. http://www.speedgraphics.net/cgi-bin...egory=slamwrap

Thanks for the links nova. I had seen streamline before, but not the other site. It has some really cool stuff on it. What is the difference between a slam wrap and tribal? Are they all made from the same stuff and just different styles?
EDIT: Sorry I just saw a link on there that explained it. Thanks again. Anyone who has any input to help me or just pictures of their PTs with some decals would help! |

Ill post this question here because i bet paintballer wants to know too. If i put vinyl on my car and say, two years down the road, want to take it off. Will my paint be shaded/faded? or does the vinyl allow the UV through? Do i need to worry about damaging the paint?

Yes, I would also like to know that question. One I would not have thought of, but is very important!
Also I have found a set of flames that I like on the second site I was given. I don't know what a good size would be to get for the side of the cruiser. Any easier way than to crouch out by the car when it gets to be light and measure it up? |

After a couple of years, yes, especially in a sunny area, if you remove the graphics, you're going to see big spots of where the graphic used to lay. A year is about the longest you should wait to take off a graphic, although there may be something out there that does let in the UV and keeps the paint looking like new. To measure the side, just take a piece of string, tape one end to where you want the graphic to start, and stretch it to wherever the graphic will end, then measure it, or get your mom's seamstress tape measure (long thin piece of fabric with marks on it) and use that. I wouldn't get the big metal tape measure and try it, you might scratch the finish.

Here's another graphic site that gives directions on how to install(Gary04GT had this in another post)
http://www.decaldriveway.com/decalinstall/HoodWet.asp There is someone on this forum that had all kind of trouble removing his hood graphic. It was coming off in tons of little pieces. I can relate somewhat to that. I am now in the process of removing my graphics off my boat and the same thing is happening, tons of little pieces. Guess I have to take a ride today down to Boat USA and check out 3M and 303. I know they have something that will help in removal. Good luck in finding your decals. You'll love the look on the Cruiser I'm sure |
