Default 2 great products I would reccomend

1. Mothers Back to Black. I haven't used this on my car, but used it on friends 2001 Grand Am GT. Worked Miracles. The grey mirrors were black again!
2. Meguiars Scratch-X, Plast-X.

I was in a product buying mood. Also got a new sponge and "Absorber" towel.

Back to black is a dye, should not grab it to quickly. A water based dressing will work for plastic, same for rubber. mjack, you should try my waffle weave towel, was at a car show Sunday and we did a test on a car with the absorber and the waffle weave. No contest. The waffle weave will hold in any contaminants in the material while the absorber will act like a chamois. and we all know what a chamois does. Ouch! Gary

That is odd Gary, bec the Back to Black is Clear, it isn't black. I will just have to invest in one of those Waffle Weave then.....at least i FINALLY got the water spots off the freaking B Pillars. As far as "water Based" dressing, I have been unsuccessful in finding any.

Gary sells some. I have used it on my car and I like. It isn't greasy snotty stuff and it lasts for quite a few washings on my tires before they need a reapply.

Jmack I might be confusing back to black with forever black (which I have on my shelf) The later of the two is a dye, not clear. If the product you mentioned is clear it might be just a solvent based dressing, in which case is just as bad. The water based dressing on my web site has got high reviews. Its also what I use in my shop. a chamois is unforgiving if any dirt gets trapped in between the finish and the chamois. can cause damage in that repsect. a waffle weave won't allow that. dirt will be absorbed IN the fibers so your finish won't get scratched. Look around on my web site for more info, Gary, p.s. thanks for clarifying forever black for me.

as soon as i get back from Houston, I will be getting some of your dressing. I tried the back to black on the rubber trim and it just wont get clean/bright anymore. I am tempted to just buy new trim and forget about it.

I did clean/seal the windows last night, and now that the oxidation is gone from the B Pillars, My car looks really Blacked out. I love it.
