Default Porter Cable Buffers

Hey Gary,

You mentioned in a previous post that you knew where to get refurb DAPC buffers with warranty. My birthday is coming up, and I was thinking abotu asking for one of these if it doesn't cost too much. Where can I find one and about how much are they?

Joe, the phone number for the Porter Cable where they sell refurbished units. is 630 424 8876 located in Addison IL. I think they are around $150 or so. Make sure you get the velcro backing plate, it makes it easier to add/remove pads. They don't sell the pads there, only the machines. try calling 901 396 3266 for the pads, ask for Joe. You should get yellow(cleaning) and tan or grey (polishing) the light polish pads can also be used to apply product. oh, and happy pre Birthday!!!![^]

Gary,

I'm confused....are we talking about model 7424 here? I have seen them NEW for 130 or so, so we must be talking about different products.

What model is the one you are recommending?

Thanks for the advice!

Joe, its been so long since I bought mine I don't remember how much I paid. $130 sounds reasonable for a new unit. Would not make sense to spend more for a rebuilt one. Why don't you just call the place I gave you, get the price and check out the new units. They may even sell new ones there, not sure. The model # is correct. Let me know if I can help more. Gary
