Default Speaking of Black

Here is the 66 Stingray I saw at the show on Sunday, the owner was well advised to call me today. I made time for him and as you can see from the pic the entire car looked as if it was detailed with a chain saw. Process I used was /wash/clay/wash again. Cyclo dual head buffer with Ardex compound, followed by Ardex professional polish with the porter Cable buffer, then I applied my paint sealant, The owner almost fainted when he picked it up, he could not believe it. That is the part of my job I love the most, the fainting part.

I sure wish I lived in the windy city near you Gary. Just got our BLACK '03 limited back from the "hospital" after an 8 week recovery from an accident. There are swirls, scratches and overspray all over it, even the door jambs. (Someone did not know how to use a buffer).I am going to have a local detailer fix it, he said he would need it for two days, I think it's too bad for me to tackle by hand. Any tips what to watch for?
The Corvette looks very similar to our PT and I expect very similar results to what you achieved. Am I expecting too much ?

When I saw this car at a show over the weekend I just had to talk to the owner without sounding like a know it all. I simply introduced myself and my business and said his car needed surgery ASAP. He agreed, (so did everyone else walking around) personally I would NEVER drive a car that looked like that much less bring it to a show. In any event, I charged him a fair price $150 just to level out the paint, Took me 3.5 hours. I don't do anything different that any qualified detailer would do, but beware, you don;t want a hacker. You know, I wish that you would create a video or DVD. I would buy one. You know one of those infomercial style things..."But wait there's more!" I am certain that there would be several people who would put out some bucks for something like that, especially when we see what you have done with the '66 'Vette.

What about it? Huh? Pretty please?

Here is a frinds BLACK Grand Prix GT with swirls and small scratches. I use a PC (Prter Cable 7424 Dual action polisher) and 1Z Paint Polish using the orange Pad, then followed with the green pad. Then after working the polish in (about 3 minutes on each panal) I swithced to the blue pad and 1Z Metallic polish(You can use it on non metallic poaint also like the Grand Prix was not metallic paint). I polished each of the panals for 2 minutes. Thats it. The following pictures have NO wax or sealant on the paint. It's just polished!

Products.
PC
1Z Paint Polish (Green can)
1Z Metallic polish{Red Can)
Sonus Pad Kit
Sonus Micro fiber Buffing towels
Click on my sig for the products used.
