Smoothing out touched up painted area?

Is there anyway to smoothen this out, so it does not look like a blob of paint? I remember coming across some kind of chemical that does this, but I can no longer find it.

I usually wet sand an area that has a larger chip, but I don't recommomend you do that. In theory the Lanka is supposed to remove the blob part of the paint, but my experience when testing it, I found it to remove all the paint. I hear for some it works ok, why not start with a smaller applicator brush, like an artist brush from a craft store. The blob occurs when you apply too much paint in the chip. The factory brush that comes with the paint is large enough to paint your garage doors, so why use it on a small chip. Make sense?> Gary

Yeah, the paint brush is a huge part of the culprit. Use a smaller brush and a TINY amount of paint, and ust slowly fill the chip in.

Apply some paint, let it dry, apply some more, let it dry, etc until the chip is filled in.

If it needs a little "smoothing" one thing I have done, while the paint is semi-dry, is to use a small amount of laquer thinner on a soft cloth and GENTLY rub the area. If the paint has dried this will not work.

It did a decent job, however, the area was heavily chipped, so anything looked better than what was there. I simply did not have time to fill 250 paint chips the right way. Don't do this yourself unless Gary turbomangt says it will work.

I bought Langka and was unsucessful in getting it to remove the blob without removing all the paint, even after three tries. The area I was working on was in a concave curve, and I was not able to use a flat card. I tried using a wood dowel, and my finger with no success.

Nonetheless, I'm inclined to try again using more finess when applying the paint rather than using Langka.

Glad to hear other people were not successful with Langka. I think the stuff is a waste of time and money
