Default Removing rustproofing overspray

When I bought my car about a month ago, I had included undercoating and rustproofing. There's alot of overspray from the rustproofing so I was wondering what the best & easiest way to remove it. There's some on the grill and on the bottom part of the door frame, close to hinge.

Read the post titled ,Tar tar, tar. Sci Fi posted some great tips that will also work in your situation. If you have a clay bar, try that first, if it is light overspray. If not, try any of those products mentioned in the Tar post. Gary

Assuming you had the dealer put on the rustproofing, it's his responsibility to clean up the mess!!!

I will say this first I would never take it back to the dealer for the removal of tar or other none paint issues on the finish...They will not spend the time or care that you would. As far as the tar...I had the same on my 2004 and I used kerosene and it took the tar off and will not hurt the paint at all. also I had somekind of film on my paint that gave it a rough feel...instead of taking it back to the dealer to have them get a buffer out and possibly mess up the finish with swirl marks...I clayed my car and it came out sooth as glass....Also stoner producs...the one that makes invisible glass had a very good bug and tar remover in a can....either would work for you....Hope this helps....

I bought some Bug & Tar Remover by Turtle wax awhile back. I just tried it on the rustproofing overspray and it did an awesome job. It also made the area nice and shiny. The spots that looked the ugliest with the overspray was on the grill (I don't think that will ever rust) and also on the bottom part of the door frame, near the hinge. I got a little carried away and decided to do my mom's car (Lexus ES300) as well.
