Default Gary, what is difference in clay bar colors?

I have used a couple differnt types and I was wondering if they were color coded (yellow and blue) as to any abrasive that may be in them etc.

thanks.

Hi Cal, sorry to say the industry has not standardized the color code on clay. some companines (like Auto Magic) has blue as Med aggressive and Red as heavy aggressive. They are the most popular. Now the synthetic clay I have seen yellow and grey. If you buy my clay all I sell is the Med, I have not needed heavy clay even for what I do. Med gets the job done. Hope that helps a little. Gary

Clay originated in Japan, and Auto Magic had most of the rites to clay under their name. Now it has opened up somewhat. I will try not to confuse you. The older clay comes in red (aggressive) and Blue Med aggressive. The synthetic clay I have seen comes in Grey/yellow and charcoal so far. I'm sure their are more colors. Synthetic clay has more polymers in it which are designed for easier use without as much lubrication as compared to the old style clay. Thats why I sell the synthtetic one, most people find it user friendly. The white Meguiars clay is extremely difficult to work with, (even for me)Just to clear up the question for the record, I sell the synthetic clay. Hope that helps, Gary
