Nice! The pillars the same color as the car look great (aside from Gary's detaling skills!)

I have an '01 Shale Green, bought in March of 2000. Been through maybe 2 car washes in that time, and pillars are still shiny. Ocassional Meguiars cleaner keeps them shiny but; real culprit is car washes. Even during hand wash, I IMMEDIATELY dry them with microfiber out of the sun. My '03 dream pillars have not stayed as shiny as the '01(not surprised--the '01 seems better built) so I put the chrome over them. this issue arose in the links several years ago.

I use the Mequiars "Plast-X" to clean the pillars and then used a sealant. Now when I wash the car I take extra special car to not get soap on the pillars. My initial application of the Plast-X was over 3 months ago, and no discoloration.
Now whenever I see a PT with this situation, I actually walk up and ask them if they would like it fixed. I carry my detailing supplies in my trunk, you never know when it is going to rain in TN. This one was extremely bad, and it was gone in minutes. The woman was so happy.

Ok, "Plast-x?" Never heard of it. And what kind of sealant are we talking about?

I took some pictures of the car titled back form the dead. That black Cruiser had real bad faded pillars. The flash on the camera hid the view. In any event, they came out like new by using my cleaner and sealant. However any paint cleaner will work. Like Jmack says, you need to follow up a couple times a month else it will return.
