DUnno if this would go here or not, but I was wondering. Is it possible to get my windows tinted to where the front ones are still tinted, but you can still see into them? My state has a law that the front windows cannot be tinted, but I see alot of cars with these semi-transparent front windows.

Paintball, what year Cruiser do you have? I have an 03 Turbo and I had the front windows tinted a shade lighter than the factory ones. However BEWARE! Unknown to me at the time, when the windows are open, the front regulator sits right against the window, having the tint there I now have a dime size abrasion on both front windows. it drives me crazy, but I try not to look at it. Thought you should know this before jumping in. Gary

My windshield is tinted, and i dont know how it happened, butlittle bubbles keep poppin up, and thats drivin me crazy. Btw, did you get your license yet? What kind of feedback do you get at your school of your PT? I want to know if its just my school with the whole, "your car is gay" thing. Its kind of aggravating

Paintball3r, you should be able to either call, write, or visit your local police department, and they'll be able to tell you what the limit is on tinting. You should be able to tint it, but maybe not as much as the rear glass is. What sort of paintball setup do you have?
Taylormade, I've got two questions for you: Do you love your car? Do you really care what others think or say? I caught a lot of hell when I rolled into the high school parking lot with my PT. My reply to any comments, "It's my car, it's bada$$, and it's got 34 miles on it. Wanna race?" The only suggestion I can make is perhaps get a new tip for your exhaust, that is one huge tip you have on now, are you scraping the ground with it? Why don't you take a look at something smaller, maybe a 3" stainless tip

No I know, but its just that you have to say stuff like that to back your car up. I just wanted to know if every high school is like mine. I did scrape the tip alot, but I had the muffler shop tuck it in closer to the car, and it doesnt happen anymore.

I have been 16 for 2 weeks now, and I'm getting my liscense tomorrow.

Everyone at my school loves the PT. The only thing I don't like about it is this (let me know if yours does this too)

I will give it gas and it just kinda goes "huh?" Seems like when I give it gas it has a real delayed effect. I don't know if it is just that insensitive on the pedal or what, but it seems that it really has no get up and go right when you give it gas and it has to slowly gain in speed. Now I have yet to just floor the pedal, so this could change, but it seems that at a normal speed it delays or something.

(but then again my drivers ed car had a real sensitive gas pedal)

The worst thing is that even though I get my liscense, the PT is still a coownership thing between my mother and myself. Since we don't have the cash for a new car, nor the insurance rates, because even if it wasn't my car, I would have to be covered incase I ever had to drive the new one....if that makes sense.

If you have a '01 or '02 NA auto, you can do a MX5 wire clip to make it more responsive to shifting into 2nd.

I'm sorry I have to thread jump, but this is for the younger PT'ers. I'm really gonna get alot of flack for this but here goes. When I had my old n/a PT, I got a air/fuel mod on Ebay. All it basically was just a resistor. You disconnect the battery, and then disconnect the harness from the air intake sensor (the sensor mounted on the intake hose going from the air filter box to the throttle body). The resistor then goes into the harness of the sensor, and you wrap it with electrical tape so it won't come out. It make the PCM think that the air coming in is cold, and adds a little more fuel to the mixture, and advances the timing (a little more than a cold air intake would). You get 1 or 2 miles per gallon less, but a stronger kick from idle. Between that and a K & N drop in filter, my PT no longer had the "huh" sindrome. [8)]Would light the tires very often with both mods. Taylor, I know the kids in your school probably have civics and acuras, right? Just get some conservative vinyl on the car (nothing crazy or wild), chrome, and maybe lower it abit. Hook it up alittle like the civics in your school, but not so "ricey". My 2001 PT used to eat ricers in civics all the time.[|)]

Definitely go with a k&n filter or a cold air intake. I thought mine was terrible, and got that and the axle back exhaust made it alot better. It feels fast now, like it actually has power. Even though i have a really nice pt with all the bells and whistles and more, it doesnt earn respect. Whenever i talk about my car, i get, "Taylor, you have a PT Cruiser" in an insulting tone. Little do they know, its actually faster than some of their trucks and stuff. I would actually beat most of them, even though they think its no contest.
