Default My PT must sleep in the open, need advice on care

Where I live my PT must sleep on the street; there's no garage in my house. What is your advice to best protect (or at least minimize the damage) from hazards such as, say, dove poop (which some of my stoopid neighbors love to feed, to the horror of car owners wverywhere on the block). I mean, I can't be on the lookout 24/7, and I hate to find dried-up splats of dove poop on my hood, which I know could eat through the finish....

And, no, I have no chioce in this, really... the car must endure the elements... and those damn birds

Ed

Have a look at www.carcoverworld.com They not only have covers for every car you can think of, but great explanations of the different types and what they're best used for. These are top of the line covers, so be prepared to spend a few bucks, but your PT is worth it.

Ed, two things you must remember to do.
One, get a synthetic paint sealant on your finish
2. Regular maintenence will be key in your situation. Washing whenever the birds bombs strike is important. Bird poop will "etch" the finish quickly unless you remove is soon. Gary see my web site for more info.

Thank you all for the advice

I've also looked for ways to shoo away the pigeons, like ultrasound, etc., but the options I found on the web are way beyond my budget at this point... so I'll limit myself to what you guys have suggested here...

Buy a Car cover. Keep a bottle of quick detail in your car with some towels to clean off any bird droppings ASAP. Doesn't matter what wax or sealant you use, bird droppings, smashed bugs, etc can quickly penetrate and etch and/or stain your paint.

Now that's the best idea so far.
