By the way, I thought the song went, "It never rains in Southern California ..." [:I] [^]
We got a fair amount of rain waaaay back in February, then for a couple of hours one day at the end of March. Then it didn't rain again until late October!!! So we had maybe 4 hours of light rain in something like 8 months......it started raining the day after I bought my Miata [xx(][:0]

LOL! Ironic, isn't it? The day I picked up my new PT, the dealer washed and even armor all the tires. But it started pouring while I was finishing the paper work.[:0] All well, that's life. Like it rains more often than not whenever I wash and detail my car!

Man, you California guys have it easy. Here in Georgia, a layer of pollen, dirt, and dust will fall on the car between the wash and wax stage. Not to mention avoiding pine tree sap, the millions of crows and pigeons, the oak trees with their awesome acorns, road tar, red Georgia clay, the polluted air, AND the annoying drivers who throw cigarette butts and half-drunken drinks out of the window. I think I may get on 20 and head west.
I was one of those California guys for more than 20 years and what you describe in Georgia was a regular occurrence where I lived in the "909" (San Bernardino County). I could wash my car on in the morning, spend hours cleaning it and by evening, it had a fine layer of dust covering the car. Here in Texas, I leave my car out at work and if the weather's clear and sunny, the PT stays almost completely clean during the week. The drivers are probably more irritating in Texas, but they're a bit more easy-going, too. In California, I just assume everyone has succumbed to roadrage. [8)]

Well, it's Monday and we had 25" of snow just 2 hours from LA. I think the snow got down below 1,000' in some places. It's cold enough to get out the winter shorts! [8D]

SuGamer, I agree. I'm also in NYC and it's such a pain in the ass to keep the car clean. It's been miserable here for the past 3 weeks, rainy and windy. And the snow is coming very soon.

I gotta wash my car before it rains again. But it's so hard. It's dark when I leave the house and it's dark when I go home. And it rains on the weekends!

Aaaggrrrhh! [xx(]

Role reversal here in Florida. Now, we can finally keep the Cruisers clean for more then a day. Summer time, rain every day, winter time, rain once in a blue moon. My main cleaning concern now is to wipe the chrome rims every couple of days. Now is nice[8D]

Man tell me about it! It's raining as I write this now! Yup, the past 3 weeks have been miserable, but what can you do? Imagine how I feel, my car's black so it can look like a dirt magnet, especially in this weather! What part of NYC do you live in?

Hey Bigdogdad! Let me ask you a question. If Florida is the sunshine state, how is it also the thunderstorm capital???[:I][] I understand what you say about rain every day, I've heard all about Florida's weather; good and bad.

Where you live dictates how clean you can keep your car. Here in Oregon it's cold and it rains a lot this time of year and especially with my work schedule I can only wash our PT's on the weekend. If it rains then, oh well, they stay dirty. When I am able to wash them it rains a day or two later. Oh well, I live with it. I like our PT's to be clean but I'm not going to whine about something I have no control over.
