Default black window pillars

The black window pillars have severe streaking and stains. I thought this was from the car wash but i rinse very thoroughly.
And I use the no-spot rinse also. I have tried scratch remover, car polish and paint cleaner. Any suggestions? I have thought of having them replaced? I don't think I want to use peanut butter as was suggested. Help?

Mark, I have seen many pillars in that condition and I determined it was caused by harsh surfactants (soap) from the wash cycle. Even if you rinse, some chemicals will damage these posts almost instantly. If the clear coat on the plastic is damaged you won't be able to repair. If you tried paint cleaners already I would say they are gone. Post back what type of car wash you frequent, and what specific products you have tried. I will try to take it from there. Gary
