Default Engine coolant replacement

My wife's car needs a coolant replacement and I want to do it myself. Do you know if there is somewhere in the circuit a valve that drains the coolant? Not too easy to check underneath...

Thanks

Yes, there's a valve at the bottom of the radiator, driver's side iirc, facing backwards, just above a drainage tube. Turn it 90 degrees to open the flow I think, although I just took off the bottom hose.

I believe that you need to turn it 90 degrees and pull it out toward you. I've always found that you are quicker (and just as messy) to pull off the bottom hose. It drains much faster.

Just to clarify things, you mean that the valve is at the right bottom side of the radiator, as you see it from the front of the car?
In other words, driver's side as we use it at over Europe, except UK?

If you stand at the front of the car looking toward the windshield, the drain is on the right hand side at the bottom of the radiator facing into the engine compartment. It's not easy to see from above but is obvious if you are under the car.

There are pictures of it on this site, try searching for radiator drain plug

Here's a drawing of it from the POV of being under the car
