Default Newbie question 2003 pt cruiser

Hi all,
I have a 2003 PT cruiser. My problem is that the two rear electric windows have stopped working off both sets of buttons. The front ones work fine. I have changed the rear switches, as they did become damaged after dropping a shovel on the passenger side switch, and found it was stuck in the close position. I have a 1996 petrol model. Thanks in advance

Ron

Ron, Not sure why you put that last statement into your question. They didn't start making the Cruisers until 2000 as a 2001 model.

As to your window problem. Looking through the schematic of the window switches (3 pages) for the 2002 and later models, the rear window switches get their power from the front switch, so there-in lies your problem. Can't say exactly, but something went wrong with the power window switch in the front that controls both front and rear windows. There's only a single circuit breaker No#2 so it that went bad, none of the windows would work.

Everything I said could be wrong if they changed the wiring in the European edition cruiser.
